Sharon Hall, PhD

SHARON HALL, PhD. is an Adjunct Lecturer. She is also Professor Emerita at the University of California, San Francisco in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and a licensed clinical psychologist.  She received her doctoral degree from Washington State University and completed an internship at the Palo Alto Veterans Administration Medical Center. She has been the Director of an NIH funded P50 Center Grant, and a T32 training program, as well as a serving as Principal Investigator on research grants funded by NIH, the State of California Tobacco Related Disease Prevention Program, and the American Cancer Society.  She is the recipient of an NIH Senior Research Award, the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco Ove Fermo Award for Clinical Research in Nicotine Dependence, and the UCSF George Sarlo Award for Teaching and Mentoring. Her research and mentoring interests focus on the treatment of nicotine dependence, especially in populations with drug and alcohol comorbidities, and psychiatric comorbidities.
